Anthropic, the company behind the Claude chatbot, moved to go public on Oct. 26, submitting a public Form S-1 to the SEC for a planned Nasdaq listing under the ticker ANT, the company said.
The filing disclosed Anthropic's finances for the first time. Revenue for the first half of 2026 reached $16.29 billion, up from $1.16 billion a year earlier, after full-year 2025 revenue of $4.59 billion. The company reported a net loss of $80.7 billion for the first six months of 2026, driven largely by a revaluation of convertible notes, according to the filing; operating loss was $693 million.
Anthropic has raised $141.1 billion in total and held $112.4 billion in cash and equivalents plus $19.3 billion in short-term investments, the filing showed. It counted more than 1,900 customers generating $1 million or more in revenue and about 250 generating $10 million or more.
The filing said Anthropic's share structure could limit the influence of Class A stockholders over major decisions. The company also pledged 847 million shares, or 5% of the total, to a charitable program.
Anthropic has not disclosed the number of shares to be offered or their price range, the filing said. The company first filed confidentially with the SEC in June, when it said a listing could come as early as this fall. Its valuation had dropped by nearly $500 billion ahead of the IPO in October.
